Cement Factory all Over Nepal. Whereas, Cement is the binding substance that sets and hardens to join the building materials. Cement is available in powder form, is mixed with sand and water to create mortar and paste, respectively. Primarily two types of cement are use in Nepal, viz. Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) and Portland Pozzolana Cement.
Himal Cement Company Limited is the first company to start domestic production in Nepal in 1975 AD. In Nepal 124 cement legally registered industries in the country but out of which 65 industries have already started their production.
Total production capacity of Nepal’s cement industry is ~22 million metric ton per annum (MTPA) and is gradually increasing every year with addition of new and large sized companies in recent periods.

1. Hongshi Shivam Cement
It is the largest cement factory in Nepal as per the production capacity. Production capacity of Hongshi Shivam Cement Pvt. Ltd is 6000 metric ton per day (MTPD). This company is located at Nawalpur district of Gandaki Province. 70% stake in the company is held by Hongshi-China Company and remaining 30% stake is owned by Shivam Cement.
2. Shivam Cement
Second largest factory of Nepal is Shivam Cement, which is located at Makawanpur district of Bagmati Province. It is currently producing at 3000 MTPD. Whereas Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) is the only produce of the company. In OPC Cement, this company has two varieties which are OPC 43 grade and OPC 53 grade.
3. Ghorai Cement
Ghorai Cement Industries is the third largest cement company in Nepal. Sagarmatha OPC and PPC Cement is the main brand of the company. At this point the production capacity of the Ghorai Cement Industries is 2400 metric ton per day. This company is led by Triveni Group in partnership with Vishal Group and situated at Ghorai City in Dang district of Lumbini Province.
4. Arghakhanchi Cement
Arghakhanchi Cement Limited (ACL) is producing cement as well as high quality clinker using modern technology. Plant established in Rupandehi district of Lumbini Province has the production capacity of 2375 metric ton per day. ACL is led by Siddhartha Group, Murarka Organization, Kedia Organization and Uma Cement Global Pvt. Ltd.
5. Riddhi Siddhi Cement
Riddhi Siddhi Cement Pvt. Ltd is established at Makwanpur district of Bagmati Province with the joint venture between Shankar Group and Ambe Group. Overall, the total capacity of plant is 2200 metric ton per day and target to expand in future.
